Curriculum Vitae

1897        

Jean Egger gets born may 14th in Hüttenberg and gets the name Hans Egger, that he changes into Jean Egger during his stay in Paris.   
1900  Jean Egger and his family move to Klagenfurt 
1916         Stay in Vienna
1918 Study at the Academy of Art in Munich attending a painting-class of Carl Johann Becker-Gundahl
1924

Stay in Italy; in autumn Jean Egger is moving to Paris

1925 Gets to know the brother of the French president, Paul Clemenceau and makes numberous acquaintances with prominent members of the French Art- and Culture-szene. Gets to know his life companion Signe Wallin.
1926

First participations in exhibitions in paris in the Société des Artistes Independants, in the Salon des Tuileries and in the Salon du Franc.

1928 Participates in exhibitions in the Salon des Tuileries and in the International Salon in Bordeaux.
1929

Gets awarded with the "Silberne Palme" and receives the titel: "Officier d'Academie". During summer 1929 stay in St.Martin am Silberberg. Jean Egger paints a series of landscapes. In autumn an exhibition in the "Denks Gallery", New York takes place.

1930

Participation in an exhibition in the Salon des Tuileries. Exhibition in the Galerie Sloden, Paris. In summer stay in sweden, Jean Egger paints a series of pictures showing landscapes.

1931

Participation in an exhibition in the Salon Tuileries. Exhibition in the Galerie Würthle, Vienna.

1932

Because of his lung-disease Jean Egger moves to Pollenca (Mallorca)

1934

In February stay in Paris, then Jean Egger moves back to Pollenca. His health condition worsens. Returns to Austria and dies Oktober 16th in Klagenfurt, Carithia of an lung-tuberculosis.
